This is one of my favorite lines! The Russian blue line was started here in early 2001 with the addition of TTR Indigo, TTR Orion, Molly of DCR and Rayna of DCR. These 4 rats founded the Russian blue line and many of their relatives reside here. When I first started working with these rats, very few people in the midwest had seen Russian blues. Many people mistook them for lilacs because they had never seen Russian blues in person. In early 2002, I sent several Russian blues to several different breeders so they could work with them. Those lines are also going very strong here in the midwest. Nearly all of the Russian blue lines in the midwest are descended from the original DCR Russian blues. I am very proud of this and I'm very happy with the hard work that other breeders have put into this line to make it so successful. Pictures of Russian blues are coming soon!
